Do you enjoy exploring the many trails of the Hinesburg Area Recreation Trail (HART) network? If so, the Hinesburg Trails Committee could use your help in sprucing up the trails after a long winter and muddy spring. On National Trails Day – Saturday, June 7 – committee members will lead volunteers in a “spring cleaning” of the Russell Farm and Geprags Park trails, removing downed branches and trees, and pruning back overhanging live branches.

Community members are encouraged to meet at 9am in the parking area behind the Hinesburg Town Offices on Route 116 to divide into teams: one for the Russell Farm trails and one for the Geprag’s Park trails. Work will cease around noon. All ages, and well-behaved dogs, are welcome. No experience is necessary. Please wear sturdy boots, work gloves, long pants, and a hat. Bring water and a snack and your favorite folding saw or pair of loppers. Some extra tools will be on hand to share if you don’t have your own. To RSVP (encouraged) or for more information, please email Lenore Budd at buddfamily@gmavt.net.
