The call for Makers is now open for this year’s Champlain Mini Maker Faire. Makers can apply to participate in this year’s event with their DIY projects, presentations and/or workshops.
The third-annual Champlain Mini Maker Faire is a two-day event planned for Saturday, Oct. 4 from 10am-5pm and Sunday, Oct. 5 from 11 am-4pm at the Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms. Over 2,000 people are expected to attend.
“Maker Faire showcases all that is creative and innovative in our community,” says Executive Event Producer Doug Webster. “Whether it’s a home-built robot, a video game, a miniature racecar, a novel, a hand-made musical instrument, or a sustainable micro garden, we need you and your creative, innovative projects”
Applicants must be local, regional, and national, groups, clubs, individuals, schools, and hobbyists who can present or actually show the making of their invention/craft/project in a contained booth setting.
Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, a Maker Faire gives the public the opportunity to interact with local Makers and to make, craft, learn and be inspired while celebrating arts, engineering, science and technology.
The call for Makers is open until Aug. 10. For more information, visit www.champlainmakerfaire.com/call-for-makers.
