On Thursday, June 19, the Hinesburg Selectboard conducted a Public Hearing on the plan to ask the Board, on behalf of Kelley’s Field Limited Partnership (owned jointly by Cathedral Square and Vermont Housing), to approve and then sign papers to apply for a $445,000 VCDP (Vermont Community Development) grant.
Representatives of the partnership said the VCDP grant will be used to help upgrade the apartment complex for energy efficiency, capital improvements and to redesign the living areas for better accessibility.
Also, the Board was told the complex needs a new roof, gas boilers, windows, additional attic and exterior insulation plus updated kitchens and bathrooms and energy efficiency lighting. Kelley’s Field was built in 1979. Following the Public Hearing, the Board members signed the grant request on behalf of the joint owners.
Rocky Martin, Director of Hinesburg’s Buildings and Facilities, reported water rates for the fiscal year of 2015 are recommended to remain at $72 per cubic foot usage per quarter with a cost of $0.035 per cubic foot usage when usage goes above 500 cubic feet per quarter.
Wastewater budget usage rates for fiscal year 2015 are recommended to increase $8.09 per usage per unit per quarter. The budget rates will be $80.59 per unit per quarter plus $0.027 per cubic foot of usage per unit per quarter. The board approved the report.
Finally, the Selectboard members approved an agreement between Hinesburg and CCRPC (Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission) to provide a 20 percent fund match for the town’s sidewalk scoping study.
