Rummage Sale Bliss returns to Waldorf School next weekend

holding-bennington-potter-plate-copyIt’s time to rummage, for sales that is.  The annual Lake Champlain Waldorf School Rummage Sale is set for Sept. 20. From furnishings to wonderful children’s clothing, linens to vintage glassware, toys to books to jewelry, Rummage Sale Bliss is bound to have an item that speaks to you. With fantastic merchandise donated from over 200 families, this is one of the largest rummage sales in the area and the involvement of the entire school community makes it a fun, unique experience.
The Rummage Sale will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9am to 1pm at the Turtle Lane campus in Shelburne. Doors will open at 9am sharp; sorry, no early birds allowed (people generally start lining up around 8:40am). While you shop, enjoy homemade baked goods, coffee, and other refreshments.
Numerous pieces of furniture were donated this year; if you have been looking for a beautiful cherry dining room table, or a down-cushioned sofa, don’t miss the sale. Attendees can also count a popular array of items including children’s clothing and outerwear, furniture, silver, glass, wicker, books, household wares, sporting goods, and lots more. The Boutique Room has expanded; look for fabulous accessories, antiques, jewelry, collectibles and other items. There is a classroom just for books, and another just for toys, especially popular for families. “Our school is beginning its 30th year, and we have opened a new high school campus on Bostwick Road,” says Development Director Lisa Espenshade. “We love school traditions, and Rummage Sale Bliss, while rather insane and over-the-top, is a great event where we get to see so many repeat customers and welcome new people.”
The Lake Champlain Waldorf School is located at 359 Turtle Lane in Shelburne. From Route 7 take Harbor Road towards Shelburne Museum, turn right on Turtle Lane by the baseball field and look for parking attendants. More information can be found at www.lakechamplainwalsorfschool.org.
