New England’s largest community theater seeks singers, dancers and actors for fall production

Lyric Theatre Company of Vermont is seeking 29 singers, dancers and actors for their up-coming production of Irving Berlin’s classic American songbook musical, White Christmas. Auditions will be held at Spotlight Vermont in South Burlington from Aug. 22 through Aug. 29. Performances will be at the Flynn Center, Main Stage from Nov. 12 through 16.

Made famous by the iconic 1950’s movie of the same name, White Christmas the Musical  includes seventeen classic Berlin songs including The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing, Blue Skies, Sisters, Count Your Blessings and of course White Christmas.

The musical tells the story of a couple of WWII vets with a successful song and dance act, a duo of beautiful singing sisters and a former army general suffering from post-war malaise who owns a struggling Vermont country inn. Vermonters will be able to easily identify the general’s wish for a white Christmas to bring skiers and tourists to fill the inn.

Lyric is seeking a wide variety of on-stage male and female performers. Casting diversity is encouraged. Volunteers for backstage, costume and set construction and front-of-house support are also welcome.
