Hinesburg Police arrested Anthony Seagroves, 23, of Hinesburg on Aug. 21. He is the primary suspect in a string of burglaries that have been occurring in town since July.

Seagroves lives on Wile Street in the Sunset Mobile Home Park, which is in close proximity to the burglaries. He was taken into custody when a resident on Lomeadow Road reported someone in the woods breaking open containers which included several piggy banks. The containers were taken during a burglary on Lowmeadow Road, police said.

Hinesburg Police, along with Shelburne Police and a canine from the Vermont State Police, responded to the scene. Seagroves was taken to the station for processing and lodged at Chittenden County Correctional Center on $10,000 bail, police said.

The investigation will continue with one or more arrests likely, police said.
