Chittenden South Burlington Youth Hockey Association invites all boys and girls ages 4 to 9 to come try ice hockey for free in their annual The Try Hockey for Free Day from 8:10am to 9:10am at C. Douglas Cairns Arena on 600 Swift Street in South Burlington on Feb. 20.

No experience in skating required. Bring skates, helmet (any sport) and gloves.

Intimidated about equipment costs after sign up? No need, because Chittenden South Burlington Youth Hockey (CSB) will cover the cost of skate rental and will have helmets and sticks for use during practice.

USA Hockey certified coaches will be available to help skaters on and off the ice and with any questions regarding hockey, equipment and future opportunities with the Chittenden South Burlington Youth Hockey Association.

“This has been a great sport for two of my daughters, who both play on the CSBgirls teams,” CSB Mite Director Shane Combres said. “CSB has exactly the right focus on fun first and foremost, but also skills development. The Try Hockey for Free Day is a great way to try out hockey if you are curious. If your child is a total beginner, there are plenty of coaches to help kids on the ice that day.”
