The First Annual Community Pasta Dinner held at Annette’s Preschool on Feb 20 was a great success. The Insider’s String Trio played as community members of all ages shared in a delicious meal, face painting and an exciting raffle of local restaurant gift certificates.

A total of $631 was raised and the proceeds from the event went to jointly support the Hinesburg Food Shelf and the T-for-Trees initiative at Annette’s Preschool to green up the outdoor playscapes with new trees, boulders, bridges and living sculpture.

Annette’s would like to announce their free Read with Me program for preschool parents and children from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on March 17 and March 24 at Annette’s Preschool. A light dinner and childcare is provided. Families who attend both sessions receive six free books.

The two evenings will help parents and children discover the power of picture books and their role in early literacy for children. Vermont Humanities Council facilitator Natacha Liuzzi of Hinesburg will illustrate how to use recommended read-aloud techniques for home-reading routines.
