The Town of Charlotte has earmarked May 6 as Charlotte Arbor Day and is encouraging everyone in town to plant a tree.

There will be an Arbor Day celebration at the Charlotte Central School on May 6. Charlie Proutt of Horsfords Nursery will be on hand along with Tree Warden Larry Hamilton. Horsfords is donating two trees for Arbor Day. The goal is to assess trees that need to be replaced because of age, pest or storm damage and identify new sites where new trees could be beneficial.
