The Shelburne, Charlotte and South Burlington Democratic Committees are sponsoring a Meet and Greet for Chittenden County Democratic State Candidates in South Burlington on June 9.  The event will be held at the South Burlington City Hall, 575 Dorset Street, from 7pm to 9pm.  Candidates will make brief statements and then take questions from the audience.

There are ten candidates running in the Democratic primary on August 9 for six positions on the ballot. Incumbents Tim Ashe, Ginny Lyons, Michael Sirotkin, and Phil Baruth are running for re-election. David Scherr, Faisal Gill, Chris Pearson, Dawn Ellis, Debbie Ingram, and Lewis Meyers have also declared their candidacies. It is expected that most, if not all, of the candidates will attend this event.

Ed Cafferty, chair of the Charlotte Democratic Committee, said, “It is important to have events like these so voters can meet the candidates to discuss their concerns and ask questions.” Chris Shaw, chair of the South Burlington Democratic Committee, said, “These gatherings afford an opportunity to meet and speak with candidates who want to be your voice in Montpelier.”
