Board hears update on Partners in Education

For Partners in Education, the work of supporting students and faculty at Hinesburg Community School is a year-round process.

During the school board’s Oct. 18 meeting, School Director and PiE board liason Stacy Riley updated the board on upcoming PiE-sponsored events, including the Unified Arts Family Curriculum Night slated for Nov. 1 at the school gym. Riley also mentioned a successful pumpkin sale, which netted $500.

Riley also noted that PiE received 12 to 13 grant applications for school-based projects, which diverged from last spring when the organization didn’t garner any funding applications.

The “heart and soul” of PiE’s mission includes community building; seeking parent input on educational topics; fundraising; assistance with release of information to the community; support of school staff and parents; and seeking to connect with Hinesburg families who have children from newborns to five years old.
