Shelburne en plein artist Mark Boedges spent the past six weeks working on a series of fall paintings, which he is ready to show this weekend.
Using an unconventional creative process, Boedges said he traveled around locally, mostly Chittenden and Addison counties, taking photos and posting them as “starts” on Instagram. He then painted these images, and is showing them at his studio gallery at 233 Falls Road in Shelburne on Saturday, 5-7 p.m.
“Normally, I start a painting outside and then immediately finish that piece back in the studio. But in order to paint more fall color during the short color season, I just started each painting but didn’t finish it, for roughly five weeks,” Boedges said. He then took the last week and a half to finish the paintings.
