Hinesburg Artist Series begins new season

The Hinesburg Artist Series will kick off its 2017-2018 concert season Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the Champlain Valley Union High School theater. The Hinesburg Community Band, South County Chorus, and In Accord will perform a variety of music.

The South County Chorus will sing “Deep Peace I Give to You,” “Song of the Earth Spirit,” “All Night All Day,” “The Frim Fram Sauce,” and a wonderful arrangement of “Turn the World Around” arranged by Mark Hayes, said music director Rufus Patrick.

The Hinesburg Community Band’s selections will include “Across the Great Plains” (the Pony Express), “A Child’s Lullaby,” “Cakewalk,” “Legacy,” and a George M. Cohan tribute entitled “Give My Regards to Broadway” arranged by Chris Sharp. The concert will also feature a solo by accompanying pianist Tim Woos.

This concert is free with donations gratefully accepted.

Looking ahead on the calendar, the annual Community Christmas Concerts will be at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 at St. Jude Church in Hinesburg.
