Governor’s Institutes to run special Winter Weekends

The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont announces the opening of the application for two February Winter Weekends for high school students. All Vermont high school and technical center students are invited to attend.

These two-day academic and arts programs will take place at Goddard College. Weekend tuition is $10-$295 depending on family ability to pay.

Topics for the programs include Disaster Health and Epidemiology; Global Education and Youth Voice; Creative Writing; Design/Build Engineering; Social Entrepreneurship; Astrophotography; Debate and National Issues; Directing Theater; World Musicology; and Intermediate Robotics. Applications will be accepted through Jan. 15.

The Governor’s Institutes is a 34-year-old nonprofit known for summer and winter immersion-learning opportunities. This summer, there are 11 Institutes scheduled, with the application period opening Feb 1.
