Hinesburg engineer takes post with manufacturing non profit

The Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center announced the addition of Carla Wuthrich of Hinesburg to its statewide team as a professional manufacturing and business growth advisor.

Hosted by Vermont Technical College since 1995, the extension center operates as a non profit supporting Vermont manufacturers.

Wuthrich joined the center in October after 25 years of experience working at IBM and GlobalFoundries in engineering, management and transformation. Her areas of direct influence included manufacturing engineering and operations, development, characterization and test, quality management systems, finance, supply chain and value stream management. At IBM, she led leadership development for the IBM Microelectronics Division for over 10 years, reaching more than 5,000 employees in three locations.  She continued with GlobalFoundries after it took over the Vermont IBM semiconductor plant in Essex Junction overseeing management processes for delivery and inventory.

Wuthrich’s training includes engineering degrees from Cornell University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Accomplished in ballet, having studied with the American Ballet Company and the School of American Ballet, she is currently a choreographer for Vermont Ballet Theater. Wuthrich works from a home office in Hinesburg.
