Hinesburg jewelry consultant renews gem society certification

Phillip Bosen, of Bosen Associates LLC in Hinesburg, recently completed his annual American Gem Society recertification. This mandatory exam was developed to maintain a standard of professional credentials, demonstrating a commitment to the society’s mission of consumer protection and ethical standards. The exam covers new developments in the industry including topics on gemology, business, technology and legal regulations.

A consultant to retail jewelers, Bosen is the only individual in Vermont who has completed the additional requirements of Certified Gemologist Appraiser since the year 2000.

Bosen is the founding president of the Vermont AGS Guild and the Vermont chapter of the Gemological Institute of America alumni group.

O’Brien promoted to senior portfolio manager at UBS

Christopher O’Brien, of Shelburne, was recently named a senior portfolio manager for the Green Mountain Wealth Management Group at UBS Financial Services.  O’Brien offers investment, retirement, and estate planning-related services for individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Vermont, a law degree from Syracuse University’s College of Law, and a master’s of law in taxation from Boston University’s School of Law. He also received a Chartered Financial Consultant designation from The American College.

Dan Bokan joins Four Seasons Sotheby’s So. Burlington office
Shelburne resident Dan Bokan has joined Four Seasons Sotheby’s International Realty in its South Burlington office as a sales associate. Bokan moved to Burlington in 1986 from Haddonfield, N.J., in 1986 to attend the University of Vermont. He graduated in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in business and was inducted into the UVM Athletic Hall of Fame for soccer and track and field in 2007.

In 2007, Bokan joined Lang Realty (now Four Seasons Sotheby’s) as a sales agent. He also spent more than 25 years with the Shearer Auto Group, where he was a managing partner.

Bokan is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors, and UVM’s Boulders Society; he’s also a longtime partner and supporter of Puppets in Education, which addresses diversity and cultural differences with children.
Dan has lived in Shelburne since 1998 with his wife, Sherry Senior, and their two sons.

Trombley adds real estate to his repertoire

Mike Trombley of Charlotte has joined Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman Realty as a realtor.

For the past 25 years, Trombley has owned and worked at Advance Music Center in Burlington. In recent years, he has handed over many of the day-to-day operations at the retail store to his business partner, Jeff Wheel. Trombley is still involved with the store in a behind-the-scenes role with accounting, vendor relations, and advertising. That shift has allowed him to pursue another path in real estate.

Trombley joined the realty office in January and will work with home buyers and sellers
