Four-person curling teams will compete at Cairns Arena March 10.

The Howard Center’s ninth and final annual Curling Challenge is just around the corner with organizers saying the event will be retired after this year.

Saturday, March 10, teams will take to the ice at Cairns Arena in South Burlington for their final fundraising matches to support the nonprofit counseling center.

“We decided it would be fitting to end on a Winter Olympics year,” said Annie Siegel, the center’s community engagement manager. Organizers say they would like to focus on other events instead.

The curling challenge hosts up to 32 teams and top fundraisers win prizes. Proceeds will help meet basic needs and provide enrichment activities for Howard Center clients.

No prior curling experience needed and all supplies will be provided.

Sponsors and four-member teams can sign up online at Howard Center’s Facebook page also has an event.
