CVU students walk out, speak out and take action last Friday

Students at Champlain Valley Union High School gathered Friday outside the school building during a scheduled walkout to mark the Parkland, Fla., mass shooting last month. Students set out 17 pairs of shoes in memory of the Florida victims. They called upon lawmakers to toughen laws regarding guns and upon each other to get involved in the issue. Inside the school before students returned to class, those eligible registered to vote. At right, students Bryan Clausen, Ezra Miller, and Milo Cress hold a sign at the walkout.
