Landscapes as award-winning art

The Vermont Nursery & Landscape Association/Green Works recently announced its winners of the 2017 Industry Awards Program.

Charlie and Elizabeth Proutt of Charlotte each received accolades for their work on residential projects. Charlie Proutt won an excellence award for distinctive landscaping. Elizabeth Proutt received an honor award for distinctive landscaping.

Winners were judged by a panel of industry professionals and landscape architects using nine criteria.

Other winners included landscape designers from Burlington, Brattleboro, Essex Junction and Richmond. Awards were presented at the trade group’s annual meeting in February.

Green Works/Vermont Nursery and Landscape Association is a nonprofit, statewide organization representing Vermont’s garden centers, greenhouses, landscapers, landscape designers and architects, nurseries, arborists, plant maintenance experts, turf care and irrigation specialists, horticultural educators and researchers, and other plant professionals.
