Mater Christi School’s Bulldog Robotics team was one of two middle school teams to compete alongside 30 high school teams in the First Tech Challenge Regional Championship at Essex High School last month. The students engineered, built and coded an operable robot in compliance with competition specifications. Sponsored by Kennedy Excavating, Logic Supply, Engelberth Construction, and Trudell Consulting Engineers, the Bulldogs placed 27th out of 32 competitors.
The K-8 private school has a makerspace and robotics program for students to develop technology skills with 3-D modeling, electricity and engineering, etc. The Burlington school is currently developing a partnership with the University of Vermont’s School of Engineering.
