Man charged after incidents involving alcohol, indecent images with a minor

A Monkton man is facing charges for sharing indecent images and consuming alcohol with a minor in Charlotte, according to state police.

On April 5, state police from the Williston barracks investigated an incident involving Michael T. Crosby, 27, of Monkton. Trooper Brittani Barone said the investigation found that Crosby sent a photo showing male genitals to a minor. Police said they also found that Crosby purchased and consumed alcohol with the same juvenile.

Crosby was charged with disseminating indecent material to a minor and contributing to juvenile delinquency in connection with the incidents, Barone said.

State Police Sgt. Paul Ravelin said investigators could not discuss further details in the case such as the age or gender of the minor. He said the victim was not a young child, however. The charges pertain to anyone under the age of 18, he explained. Police believe Crosby knew the victim through a work relationship, Ravelin said.

Crosby was cited to appear in Chittenden Superior Court Criminal Division on June 12.
