Social responsibility business conference set for Tuesday in Burlington

Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility’s annual conference is Tuesday, May 15, at the Davis Center at the University of Vermont in Burlington.

Registration is still open for “Leading with Values, Finding Your Opportunities” featuring 15 workshops designed to help professionals find new opportunities in socially responsible organizations.

Participants will enjoy a localvore lunch sponsored by UVM Medical Center and visit with 40+ exhibitors including corporate members such as Suncommon and nonprofits such as The Vermont Foodbank. The day will conclude with a cocktail and networking reception.

“I am always amazed at our members’ willingness to share their experiences, failures and successes from their own journey to becoming a better organization,” said Jane Campbell, Executive Director of VBSR, “Education is core to our mission. The spring conference is our biggest event of the year.”

Workshop topics will include: team decision-making, leveraging remote-work culture, pay equity and compensation philosophy, design thinking for innovation and finding solutions for hard-to-recycle materials.

The registration fee for the all-day event is $200, and $50 for full-time students and state officials. Event details and registration are online at vbsr.org.

Carpooling is encouraged. Accommodations will be available for nursing mothers. Please bring your favorite reusable water bottle and travel mug to help limit recyclables.
