New library hours: New hours at the library start this month. We will be open from 10 a.m. to 7p.m. on Tuesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays and Saturdays. We hope the hours will be easier to remember and accommodate more of our community’s library needs. We look forward to seeing you more often.

Now downloading and streaming music for free: We now offer a new music streaming and downloading service called Freegal. Accessible online — all you need is your library card —patrons will be able to stream and download many different types of music from the internet. Freegal offers access to approximately 15 million songs from over 40,000 labels. We will host informational sessions on how to use Freegal, so check our online calendar for updates.

Family Concert with Rik Palieri: Thursday, July 5, 1-3 p.m. Local musician Rik Palieri entertains with a combination of songs and stories from his travels and features the banjo, guitar, Ozark mouth bow, Banjo Uke and Native American Flute. All ages welcome, children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration required. Sign up in the library or online.

Live Music: Jam with the Song Farmers of Hinesburg: Thursday, July 5 and Aug. 2, 6 p.m. Do you play an acoustic instrument or just love to sing along to old time, blues, country and folk music?  Come join the Song Farmers during their monthly jam session and participate in this wonderful live music offering. If you don’t play an instrument, just come listen or to sing-along. Free and open to the public.

Geology Rocks with Audubon Vermont: Thursday, July 12, 1-3 p.m. Geology rocks! Spend some time with Audubon and investigate the world of rocks. Your time will be used to explore 3 different types of rocks through crafts, interactive activities, experiments and games. We will enjoy an educational treat and a story. At the end everyone will be able to take home a pet rock. Ages 5-10. This event is full, but email to be added to the waiting list.

Musical Exploration with Woodbury Strings Fiddle and Banjo Club: Thursday, July 19, 1-3 p.m. A concert with the Woodbury Strings Fiddle and Banjo Club. The music will be followed by an opportunity to try out all different kinds of instruments. Ages 5-10. Pre-registration required. Sign up in the library or online.

Color Your Way to Calm: Adult Coloring: Saturday, July 21, 1-2:30 p.m. Color your way to calm at our drop-in coloring club for adults. Coloring sheets, art supplies, and tea will be provided.
