The Vermont Department of Corrections announced that it on Wednesday was to release into the Burlington area a sex offender who has served a prison term for stalking a minor girl in 2014.

Ryan Donald Aldrich, 46, will living at a Burlington motel, according to Department of Corrections personnel.

The stalking offense was not his first. Aldrich has been convicted of sex-offense crimes in Vermont and New York, officials said in their announcement of his release.

Corrections officials said that Aldrich’s risk to commit another sexual offense is highly likely.

If Aldrich were to commit another sex crime offense, officials said, his most likely victims would be girls and young women between the ages of 6 and 21.

Aldrich will be placed on the Vermont Sex Offender Registry.
