Farewell, Lt. Fortin

The staff at the Shelburne town offices took time last week for a farewell lunch to toast Shelburne Police Lt. Allen Fortin who wrapped up his nearly 30-year career with the department last week. Sgt. Josh Flore presented Fortin with a gift from the department: a shadow box containing the emblems the law enforcement agencies where he has worked to date – Shelburne Police, Hinesburg Police, and Vermont Fish & Wildlife. Fortin, who lives in Hinesburg, heads next to the Chittenden County Sheriff’s Department to expand traffic safety effort programs that he began in Shelburne. The Dutch Mill restaurant catered the lunch sendoff with desserts supplied by town employees.
