Vermont’s two-part archery deer season is Oct. 6 to Nov. 2, and Dec. 1-9. According to Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department officials, hunters may take up to two deer, one of which may be a legal buck (a deer with at least one antler having two or more points one inch or longer). In Vermont a hunter may take up to three deer in a calendar year in any combination of seasons (archery, youth weekend, November rifle season, December muzzleloader). Purchase licenses and find more hunting information online at vtfishandwildlife.com including the 2018 Deer Season Guide and the 2017 White-tailed Deer Harvest Report with the number of deer taken in each town in last year’s deer hunting seasons. Archers took 3,578 deer in 2017.
