This program is for kids in grades K-6 and is held in the Hinesburg Community School gym. K-2 teams are co-ed and focus on skills, playing in-house, age-appropriate scrimmages at stations on Saturdays. Grades 3-6 have one mid-week practice and on Saturdays play home and away games within the greater Burlington area as part of the Champlain Valley Recreation Association, Jan. 5 through Feb. 16. Program begins Dec. 1; no practices or games when school is not in session. Deadline to register is Nov. 30. Fee: $45 by Nov. 16; $55 after that.
Hinesburg resident Corali Bisbee brings her native Spanish to elementary students for an introductory experience. Students will be exposed to conversational Spanish in a fun, relaxed atmosphere that uses songs and games.
For kids ages 6-9. Upcoming sessions meet on Mondays starting Nov. 26 through Dec. 17, or Fridays beginning Nov. 16 (no class Nov. 23) through Dec. 14. With sessions scheduled through April. Classes meet at Hinesburg Community School, 2:45-3:45 p.m. Fee is $65 for the November-December session, $95 for the 2019 sessions.
This workout program is designed to improve general fitness, conditioning and relative body strength through high-intensity intervals, circuit and strength training in a supportive, high-energy environment. Participants will need a set of dumbbells and a mat. Meets at Town Hall, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:50-6:50 a.m. through Jan. 15. (No class on holiday weeks). Another session runs Jan. 22 – March 21. Cost: $220 per session
Coed Adult Volleyball
A minimum of intermediate skill level is appreciated. Adult Coed Futsal
Meets in the HCS gym Wednesdays 8-9:30 p.m. through April 17. Fee is $10 for the whole season. Register at hinesburgrec.com.
Snowmobile Safety Course
This six-hour course provides the opportunity to earn the certification necessary to legally operate on Vermont’s Statewide Snowmobile Trails System. Participants must be present for all classes in order to be eligible for certification. State law requires snowmobile operators born after July 1, 1983, who are 12 years of age or older, to pass a state-approved snowmobile safety course. Open to ages 8 and older. Meets Dec. 3, 4 and 6 from 6-8 p.m. at Williston Central School. Fee: $15.
