Tuesday Storytimes
Jan. 15 storytimes are:
• Baby Time: 9-10 a.m. Songs and stories for babies and their caregivers.
• Preschool Storytime: 10:30-11:30 a.m. Drop in for stories for children ages 3-5. Snacks, crafts and stories.
• Kindergarten/1st Grade Story -time: 2:15-3:15 p.m.

January book groups
• Mondays, Jan. 14, 21 and 28 at 10 a.m. Discussion of “Walking Each Other Home” facilitated by poet and hospice activist Pam MacPherson. From Ram Dass’s quote: “we are all just walking each other home,” this book shows us “how death gives us an unparalleled opening to cultivate gratitude, compassion, mindfulness, and an abiding joy in the simple beauty of living.”
• Thursdays, Jan. 10, 24 and Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. David Fleming’s “Surviving the Future” will spur conversation with Transition Town Charlotte to look into the future at how the arts and community engagement in fun are essential to a healthy community. With friendliness, humor, and charm, this book plucks this vision out of our daydreams and shows us how to make it real.
• Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. The Men’s Book Group debuts led by Jonathan Silverman reading “The Contact Surgeon” by Dan O’Brian.
The group plans a lively, informal monthly gathering to discuss topics in books chosen by participants. Sign up at the library.
