The Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf is excited to host the Creative Community Art Show throughout the month of April, featuring paintings, collages, and other artwork from local artists. The opening reception will take place on Monday, April 1 from 4-6 p.m. at Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf, 228 N. Winooski Ave, Burlington and will mark the beginning of Fair Housing Month, which celebrates the passing of the Fair Housing Act in April 1968.
Community members, including CEFS recipients and volunteers, will be displaying artwork exploring the themes of home, community, inclusivity, and diversity. Hannah Harrington, CEFS Service Coordinator, helped to coordinate the month-long celebration.

“We are so excited to host this art show in honor of Fair Housing month, as an effort to celebrate the meanings of community and home,” said Harrington.  “We received enormous support from the Fair Housing Project of CVOEO, the Howard Center Arts Collective, as well as community members and visitors. We are proud to display this beautiful, colorful collection of artwork here at the Food Shelf!”
