The United Church of Hinesburg holds their annual Plants and Baked Goods Sale Saturday, May 11, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A spring tradition for more than 40 years, the sale includes hardy perennials, annuals and homemade baked goods all with small-town hospitality.
Perennials are dug from gardens in and around Hinesburg and potted, ready for transplanting. There will be traditional and unusual selections at reasonable prices. The sale also features a large selection of annuals in full bloom, as well as baked goods including pies, breads, cookies, baked beans and other ready-to-serve fare.
On the same day, there will be additional fundraisers happening at the church, including one to benefit the Hinesburg Youth Project’s June trip to H.O.M.E. Inc. in Orland, Maine, and another for the Service Dog Project in Ipswich, Mass. happening in August. The middle school youth will host a “GEARage” sale on the church front lawn from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering outdoor clothing and equipment for all seasons. The high school youth will sell cut flowers, food and beverages throughout the day.
