Hinesburg Girl Scouts hold kick-off party

Hinesburg Girl Scouts are holding a kick-off party Friday, Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m., at the Hinesburg Community School cafeteria. All are welcome to attend.

The event features ice cream, girl-led activities and information about the many Girl Scout programs and volunteer opportunities.

The troop is looking for leaders, in particular someone to help lead the Daisies, the kindergarten through first grade program.

“The Girl Scout troop in Hinesburg has been a long running multi-level troop with girls in kindergarten all the way up to high school,” said Robin Miller, one of the local troop leaders. “The girls have had opportunities to do a lot of fun things including learning archery, flying a plane, making gifts for new babies in town, spending the night at museums, caring for horses and so much more!”

The Hinesburg Girl Scout troop is part of Girl Scouts of Green and White Mountains, one of 112 councils chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA, serving more than 10,000 girls in Vermont and New Hampshire.
