CVU Redhawks Football and CSSU Buccaneers pickup games will happen each Sunday in February and March from 3:30pm to 5:30pm in the CVU gym, starting Feb. 7. This is free and no pre-registration is necessary. Complete a waiver and play. No previous experience. All youths in grades 2 through 7 are welcome. Bring sneakers, a mouth guard and water bottle. Equipment will be provided.

Skiing and riding can be affordable! Hinesburg Recreation offers $25 lift tickets for adults and $20 for youth Feb. 28, March 6 and 13. Ski and snowboard rentals and lesson options available as well. Sign up by noon on Thursday and pick up lift tickets from a coordinator at Smugglers’ Notch on Sundays from 8:30 to 9:30am. Forms available at office or online at www.hinesburg.org under Recreation. After-School Dance with Francesca. Class will have a Zumba feel (follow the leader/repetitive sequences) while incorporating warm-up, stretching, across the floor “move previews/reviews” before songs, and a cool down. Jazz, hip hop, and some Latin dance. Movement games and activities. Mostly FUN! Dancers should wear comfortable clothing. Yoga attire, dance/gymnastics outfits, or sweats and a shirt will work nicely, and sneakers or dance shoes (jazz). Water bottles are super helpful, as is a quick snack for right after school. For grades K-2 graders.

Common Ground Center, 2016 Snowshoe Series. Come explore the trails at Common Ground Center! Join staff for an easy-to-moderate snowshoe around their fields and forests. We’ll have a naturalist with us to teach you about the wildlife and landscape around you. Warm up by the fire in the Eco-Lodge afterwards with hot drinks, snacks and entertainment. Please bring snowshoes, poles, warm clothing and a headlamp/flashlight. There may be snowshoes available if you need them. All programs start at 6:30pm at Common Ground Center. $20 per person, $50 per family of three or more. Naturalist and performer Matthew Witten to perform on Friday, Feb. 19. Naturalist and performer Witten leads a lively and interesting tracking and winter woods snowshoe outing followed by stories around the fire. Watch out for special guests such as Gluscabi, Mr. Mud and Old Man Winter.

Adventure Guide and Naturalist Paul Brown will lead an evening exploration on snowshoes of the winter woods on Friday, March 11. We will be looking and listening for signs and sounds of wildlife, learn about how they survive in cold and snow, and practice our best owl calls.
